Why we recommend these mountain boots
A good mountain boot is an investment over years, not seasons — as long as it can be resoled. That's why we recommend models with a replaceable Vibram outsole and accessible stitching: Scarpa, La Sportiva, Lowa, Asolo, Salewa or Merrell. They're the ones we repair every day for hikers and FMM-affiliated walkers.
When a boot is well built, replacing the outsole in the workshop costs a fraction of a new pair and restores the original grip. If you're torn between buying new or resoling yours, send us a photo on WhatsApp and we'll tell you honestly whether it's worth it.
These are affiliate links with Amazon and Decathlon. We earn a small commission when you buy through them, it costs you nothing extra and you help keep the workshop going. Prices are indicative — the shop shows the live price and availability.
